Q 1. What historical, political, and cultural features make Colombia especially open to organized crime? What if you were asked to identify the main reason for the rise of the drug organizations? What would you say and why?
There are numerous reasons which make Columbia especially open to organized crime. Columbia is a war torn country. There has been various political strife, more than three civil wars in successive century’s i.e. the 19th and 20th century. The presence of the drug cartel in Columbia has become a part of the culture and lifestyle.
